Ezidi champion Malkhas Amoyan wins fifth European title for Armenia 🥇

Ezidi wrestler Malkhas Amoyan has won his fifth European Championship gold medal, securing yet another major achievement for Armenia in Greco-Roman wrestling.

Competing in the senior 77 kg division at the European Championship in Tirana, Amoyan faced Georgia’s Ramaz Zoidze in the final. The bout ended 1:1, with victory awarded to Amoyan because he scored the first point of the match.

With this result, Amoyan becomes a five-time European champion, further strengthening his place among the top wrestlers in Europe. Already an Olympic bronze medalist and a multiple world and European champion, he continues to build an exceptional career on the international stage.

During the medal ceremony, Amoyan was awarded the gold medal for Armenia. Georgia’s Ramaz Zoidze took silver, while the bronze medals went to Hungary’s R. Fritsch and Sweden’s K. Baff.

Amoyan’s latest triumph is not only another proud sporting moment for Armenia, but also an important moment of pride for Ezidis following the success of one of their most prominent athletes.
