Ezidi representatives have held high-level meetings with Turkish officials in Ankara, marking a notable moment for the visibility of Ezidi issues on the international stage.
A delegation including Sheikh Xwededa Adani and Pîr Davud Pamukçi participated in an official program on 9 March 2026, where they engaged in discussions with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Hakan Fidan.
During a direct meeting with President Erdoğan, Sheikh Adani emphasized the importance of protecting the religious rights, security, and cultural identity of the Ezidi people. The discussions also highlighted the need to address the concerns of Ezidis living both in Turkey and in the diaspora.
In a separate meeting with Foreign Minister Fidan, the situation in Sinjar was a key topic. The talks focused on long-term stability, political solutions, and ensuring that Ezidis can live in safety and dignity while preserving their religious traditions, Sharfadin.
According to statements from the Ezidi Culture and Rights Center, the meetings represent a significant step in bringing Ezidi concerns to the highest political level. The direct engagement with senior Turkish leadership is being described as an important development in advancing recognition, dialogue, and protection of Ezidi rights.
