The International Center for MultiGenerational Legacies of Trauma will host a webinar on 16 July 2026 focusing on healing, resilience, education, and civil society work after the 2014 genocide committed by ISIS against the Ezidi people.

The webinar, titled “Beyond Survival: Reparative Education and Civil Society Work as Pathways to Healing, Resilience, and Community Recovery after the 2014 Ezidi Genocide,” will take place ahead of the 12th anniversary of the genocide on 3 August.

The event will bring together Ezidi survivors, educators, civil society leaders, and humanitarian workers who have contributed to post-genocide recovery efforts. The discussion will focus on how education, documentation, trauma-informed work, survivor advocacy, and locally rooted initiatives can support long-term healing and resilience.

Speakers include Najla, an Ezidi survivor and human rights activist in Germany; Zirak Hameed, founder and president of Panaga Organization for Education; Bahzad Farhan, founder and president of Kinyat; Jenan Saydo, an English teacher in Sinuni; and Nayef Sabri, founder and president of Sunrise NGO.

The webinar will be moderated by Dr. Yael Danieli, founder and executive director of the International Center for MultiGenerational Legacies of Trauma.

The event will be held online on Thursday, 16 July 2026, from 1:00–2:30 PM EDT, corresponding to 6:00–7:30 PM BST and 7:00–8:30 PM CEST.
