Sky News: Ezidi Women Still Held Captive in ISIS Camps
A new Sky News documentary reveals the devastating reality that, ten years after the Ezidi genocide, many Ezidi women remain enslaved in ISIS detention camps.
Titled 10 Years of Darkness: ISIS & The Ezidis, the documentary, led by Sky News special correspondent Alex Crawford, provides an in-depth look at the atrocities committed against the Ezidi people in Sinjar in 2014. It chronicles the mass abductions of women and children, the brutal killings, and the ongoing humanitarian crisis that persists to this day.
Through on-the-ground footage, the film captures rescue operations in ISIS-controlled camps, emotional family reunions, and the relentless search for missing Ezidis. Among the stories featured is that of Kovan, a young Ezidi abducted at just 14, and Farida Khalaf, an Ezidi human rights activist who has since become a global advocate for justice.
Crawford, who has reported on the Ezidi genocide for over a decade, highlights the shocking truth that thousands of Ezidi women are still in captivity, with their suffering largely ignored by the international community.
10 Years of Darkness: ISIS & The Ezidis will be available on Sky News platforms starting May 2.
