On the night between 3rd and 4th February, 2026 marks Şevberat, the sacred night of forgiveness and purification for Ezidis. On this night, followers of the Şerfedim religion reflect, pray, and listen to qewls, seeking spiritual renewal and mercy.
Ezidis in Lalish stay awake throughout the night and make Berats. Berats are small pearl-like spheres formed in the Lalişa Nûranî sanctuary from holy earth and water of the Kaniya Sipî (White Spring).
According to Ezidi tradition, the gates of heaven are open tonight, and prayers are especially powerful. It is a time to cleanse the heart, forgive, and connect deeply with faith. May this Şevberat bring peace, blessings, and guidance to all who observe it.
