She describes how Ezidis were left without protection precisely because those who claimed authority had removed their weapons and then fled.She emphasizes that this betrayal is not only documented but demonstrates that the Kurdish leadership had no capacity or legitimacy to call itself a functioning state, since it failed in the most basic duty of any authority: protecting civilian people.
