On June 12, 2025, the Queensland Police Service (QPS) released the first episode of the “QPS Toowoomba Ezidi Podcast”, a new initiative aimed at supporting the Ezidi people in Toowoomba. The podcast provides clear, culturally sensitive information on local policing and crime prevention in Ezdiki.

Foreningen arbejder også hårdt for at bevare den ezidiske kulturarv, imødekomme essentielle behov som begravelses- og bryllupshaller og sikre ordentlig vedligeholdelse af kirkegårde.

Die EYAA wurde von einer Gruppe engagierter junger Jesiden gegründet, mit dem Ziel, die in Australien lebenden Jesiden zu unterstützen und zu stärken. Am 16. Oktober 2024 erreichte die Organisation einen wichtigen Meilenstein für die jesidische Gemeinschaft in Australien, indem sie als erste jesidische Vereinigung des Landes offiziell eingetragen wurde.

As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the Ezidi people informed, Ezidi Times would like to make our readers aware of organisation in Australia, namely the “Ezidi Youth Association in Australia” (EYAA).
The EYAA was founded by a group of dedicated young Ezidis with the goal of supporting and empowering the Ezidi people living in Australia. On October 16, 2024, the association marked a significant milestone for the Ezidis in Australia by becoming the first-ever incorporated Ezidi association in the country.
Yazidis are still fighting for justice over the ISIS-led genocide. While international recognition has been given, Australian perpetrators remain unprosecuted, with many demanding these crimes be handled by Australia’s justice system. Prosecuting these crimes domestically would ensure accountability and contribute to global peace.
This year in August it will be 10 years since the IS attacked Sinjar, committed heinous crimes, and forced several hundred thousand Ezidis to leave their ancestral land. To this day it’s reported that between 100 000 to 200 000 Ezidis live in IDP camps across the Middle East. The Iraqi Council of Representatives has adopted the Yezidi Survivors Law (YSL) which was aimed to bring justice to Ezidis but also Turkmen, Christians and Shabaks. Yet, to this day, no Iraqi court has sentenced anyone for committing genocide against the Ezidi people. Despite this, there are hopes among the Ezidi people, living in IDP camps, to return home to Sinjar.
