Mens PKK bruger Ezidiernes lidelser til at opnå sympati og legitimitet i Vesten, er sandheden, at de bruger Ezidierne som dække for deres egne planer. PKK’s handlinger viser, at deres mål ikke er at beskytte Ezidierne, men at etablere kontrol i et nøgleområde. Dette er farligt for Tyrkiet, og jo længere PKK får lov til at opholde sig i Sinjar, desto sværere vil det blive for Tyrkiet at skubbe dem ud.

The PKK’s actions show that their goal is not to protect the Ezidis, but to establish control in a key area. This is dangerous for Turkey, and the longer the PKK is allowed to stay in Sinjar, the harder it will be for Turkey to push them out.
